Practice Shift

One paper. One clinical shift. Every week.

Practice Shift is a short physiotherapy podcast for students and clinicians. Each episode takes one research insight and turns it into one practical thing you can do differently on Tuesday.

Why it exists

Evidence-based practice often breaks down between the paper and the treatment table.

Students and clinicians do not usually need more papers. They need a better route from the literature to one usable clinical move.

Practice Shift was built for that gap. It turns research into a short, repeatable, practical learning format instead of another abstract-heavy workflow that gets abandoned halfway through.

It also shows the creative side of the Avivly workflow: evidence review, clinical reasoning, audio production, and publishing shaped into one small product.

How it works

From one paper to one usable shift.

The product is simple on the surface, but it is built around a clear evidence and learning workflow.

01 · Research identification

Thousands of papers. One matters this week.

The workflow starts by finding a physiotherapy or rehabilitation paper that has a clear clinical implication, not just an interesting abstract.

02 · Clinical reasoning filter

Strong evidence, or just noise?

Candidate papers are scored for evidence strength, clinical relevance, novelty, and episode fit before they become part of the show.

03 · Treatment-table translation

What changes in the next session?

The paper is turned into one practical shift: a clearer question, a different explanation, or a better next step for the patient in front of you.

04 · Weekly listening product

One shift, repeated over time.

Five to eight minutes. One useful idea. Built for students and clinicians who want evidence in their pocket without another long review session.

What is inside

A learning product, a player, and a small automation stack working together.

Format

A physiotherapy microcast, not a long lecture.

Each episode is short enough to fit between patients, but structured enough to teach one clinical idea properly.

Evidence layer

Research first, then the episode.

The production flow uses PubMed search, scoring, verification, and clinical review logic before anything becomes a published episode.

Learning design

Built for changed behavior, not content overload.

The point is not to summarize everything. The point is to make one useful clinical move easier to remember and apply.

Product surface

Mobile-first listening with a real episode system.

The prototype includes episode cards, a player, mobile navigation, early access flow, and a product shell around the audio experience.

In your pocket

Built for the gap between patients, classes, and the next decision.

Practice Shift is designed as a real listening product, not just a concept. The mobile surface, the episode player, and the weekly release rhythm are all part of what makes it useful.

Season one

Published episodes appear automatically.

Search, script, voice, intro, outro, upload, release.

Player surface

Sticky playback, progress, and episode rhythm.

Small enough for clinic reality. Structured enough to teach something useful.

Automation

The weekly flow is designed to publish with minimal manual friction.

Practice Shift is also interesting because the publishing logic is productized: paper selection, script generation, audio production, and live release are all part of the system.

Source selection

Research candidates are collected and ranked.

The Base44 functions can ingest PubMed candidates, score them for evidence strength and relevance, and prepare the strongest candidate for review.

Script production

The episode is written around one clinical shift.

The script flow keeps the voice practical: what the paper found, why it matters, and what a physiotherapist can change in the next session.

Audio production

Voice, intro, outro, and publish-ready audio.

The production stack combines generated speech with branded audio assets, then stores the final episode with metadata and duration.

Live publishing

Published episodes appear in the app.

Episode records move through candidate, selected, script, audio, scheduled, and published stages so the workflow stays visible and recoverable.

Signal set

Medical reasoning, editorial structure, and automation in one place.

Practice Shift sits at the edge of several things that matter to this site: evidence-based practice, clinical education, product design, and creative automation.

That makes it a useful example of how a smaller learning product can still carry serious clinical thinking and real automation underneath.

Practice Shift

Evidence in your ears. One clinical shift at a time.

Practice Shift is a learning and editorial product. It supports evidence translation and clinical reflection, not direct medical advice.
